What we do

Data is public. Insight is not.

The underlying data on EV adoption, CO₂ emissions, and population is freely available from organisations like the IEA, the World Bank, and Our World in Data. But it arrives in dozens of CSV files with inconsistent country names, missing years, and no cross-variable context.

Statmile does the hard part: collection, normalisation, and synthesis. Then adds the intelligence layer — interactive visualisation, AI-generated analysis, and report generation — so your team can answer market questions in minutes, not hours.

Aggregation
Multiple datasets normalised to a unified schema. One query, all markets.
Visualisation
3D globe, interactive chart explorer, country profiles, and comparative views.
AI Analysis
Our AI model reads the data and writes analytical summaries grounded in real numbers.
Reports
Professional PDF reports with charts, AI analysis, and source attribution — built in minutes.
Data sources

Built on authoritative public data.

All underlying market data is sourced from publicly licensed open datasets. Statmile provides proper attribution on every chart and report. The value of the platform is the aggregation, normalisation, and intelligence layer — not the raw data itself.

Methodology

From raw CSV to market insight.

Raw data is downloaded from source providers and processed by a Python ETL pipeline that normalises country names, aligns year ranges, and writes a unified SQLite database. Country names follow a consistent internal convention mapped from IEA, World Bank, and OWID source strings.

Data is served via a FastAPI backend. The globe and map views use pre-exported JSON for fast load times; all chart, insight, and AI views query the live database. Custom datasets imported by users go through the same normalisation pipeline and are stored alongside default variables.

AI analysis is generated by a state-of-the-art language model with direct read-only access to the database via tool use — every number cited is retrieved from actual data, not model memory. Users can also run free-form queries against the dataset through the AI Analyst chat interface.
